  • Cleaning, tidying, and basic organization

You Won't Do

  • Licensed trade work (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.)
  • Regrading or pesticide application
  • Structural modifications
  • Any scope that requires a permit or licensed trade

Getting Started

Requirements

  • Proof of identity and right to work; W-9 (or W-8BEN if applicable).
  • Insurance preferred; for low-risk work, a performance bond may be accepted if specified in your Work Order.
  • Acceptance of Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA).
  • Follow safety rules, property-respect standards, and scope directions on each job.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a CT trade license?

Not for this track. Independent Partners handle non-licensed, low-risk scopes. Licensed work is assigned to licensed contractors.

Do I need my own insurance?

Insurance is preferred. For certain low-risk scopes, a performance bond may be accepted if specified. Workers' compensation and auto liability may still apply depending on your situation.

How does tax work?

You invoice Maywood without charging CT sales tax; Maywood collects and remits sales tax on the client invoice where applicable.

Can I talk directly to the client?

All communication and billing run through Maywood. If a client reaches out, route it back to us per the ICA.

What if a job looks like it needs a licensed trade?

Pause and escalate to Maywood. We'll route a licensed contractor and adjust the scope.

How fast do I get paid?

Typically 7–10 business days after completion is logged and verified, subject to standard Net-30 terms.
